Hello everyone! Well we sure feel like Claire is growing right before our eyes these days. She has outgrown some of her first little outfits--hard to believe our little girl is almost seven weeks old! She really enjoys yawning and stretching...especially after being released from her swaddling blanket after a nap. She likes sitting out on the back porch and going on walks around the neighborhood. She is even beginning to enjoy bath time.
As of the last few days, we are starting to get some "real" smiles from her! Matt is especially good at bringing these about. Twice now she has smiled big when he first picks her up after being gone for awhile. Matt and I get so tickled and excited that she will usually smile again for us! Claire is also moving her lips and tongue a lot as if she's just ready to jump into the conversation!
We've taken Claire to the late service at church for the last two Sundays. She's done very well both times. Yesterday she slept through the whole service, so we were able to stay in the sanctuary the whole time. It's still a few more weeks before she's old enough to go into the nursery.
She is still needing to eat every 2.5 to 3 hours, day and night. Matt has started giving Claire a bottle for one of the nighttime feedings which gives me some much appreciated extra sleep. Claire enjoyed a visit from her M.M. last week when Matt was out of town for a few days. Matt was called out to respond to an emergency today in SC and isn't sure when he'll be back--probably not until Wednesday. This leaves Mommy and Claire alone overnight for the first time!
Hopefully we will be able to take Claire to meet her Great Grandma Mynatt and Great Mammaw and Pappaw Lyons in Chattanooga this weekend!

Don't I look cute in my hat!
Missed getting a picture at the hospital with the midwife who delivered Claire, so we got one at my checkup
