My new camera lens that was ordered as a Christmas present, and which has been on back-order for quite a while, finally arrived. At the suggestion of some friends, my first new lens is a NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G AF-S (a year ago that would've been gibberish to me, but I'm finally starting to understand the lingo a little better). My skills were also much improved by some instructional books that Amanda gave me for Christmas.
I have no ambitions to be a photographer. I have many photographer or hobbyist friends that are incredibly skilled in this art (Mandi, Meridith, Kandyce, Kathy... I could keep listing but I'm just now surprised that I can't think of any guys for the list) including Aunt Dana who is wicked handy with a digital memorymaker, and I'm not aiming for their level of talent.
However, I happen to think that I have the three most beautiful subjects at my disposal (Amanda, Claire and James) and I want to make sure that I have plenty of high quality photos to remember these special days.
As you can see, I still require a lot of practice.
