Park Day

This morning I had a parent/teacher conference at Claire's preschool.  Her teachers were very complimentary of Claire and truly seem to love her.  Here are some highlights of our meeting:

  • Claire is very girly and loves to dress up and always picks pink or purple when choosing a hoop, ball, art supply, etc.
  • Claire always has a baby doll in her hand and holds it very lovingly as she walks around with it.
  • Claire has great retention.  If they read a story in the morning, she can answer questions about it later in the day.
  • Claire loves art time.
  • They often partner the kids up to hold hands as they walk somewhere.  They said they can always count on Claire to keep her partner in line and pull him/her back when distracted.
  • Claire is a rule follower and loves the routine of the school day.  She always wants to know what is coming next.  She is a good little student.
  • Claire has become very relaxed and comfortable at preschool and is very happy there.  She is much more active on the playground.
  • Starting this month, Claire stays an extra hour one day a week and eats lunch at preschool.  Claire is very good about staying at the table and finishing her lunch.  (This particular comment doesn't surprise me a bit!)
Since the conferences this morning meant that Claire didn't have a regular day at preschool, I packed up Claire's tricycle, our wagon and a picnic lunch.  We enjoyed a very warm January day at the park.

Looking at geese in the water

James was quite a mess, but...

...when you take your sandwich apart and eat it like this, then it's to be expected!

James got a kick out of being able to run in the open field.

And finally a video
