James' 2nd Birthday Party

We did a construction theme for James' 2nd birthday party and invited his friends from church.  For the invitations, I cut out little dump trucks.  When the kids came in, there was brown paper on the floor with outlines of different trucks and tools for them to color.  Then we all went downstairs to our playroom where we had lots of big paper balls, shovels, buckets, and trucks for them to play with.  We went back upstairs for pizza and either dirt or sand cups (crushed chocolate cookie with chocolate pudding or vanilla cookies with vanilla pudding).  After eating, the kids played outside in the backyard.  Everyone seemed to have a great time.  We didn't get pictures of the decorations, but Matt used caution tape, streamers, and balloons to make the house look very festive.  We had little hard hats for everyone and bags of "Nuts and Bolts" (chex mix) as a party favor.
