Off to Michigan

Very early on April 3, we left for Michigan.  We had a quick breakfast stop at my parents' house in TN and spent the night in a hotel near Cincinnati.  Claire and James traveled great in the car.  They each packed a little backpack with things to do and were thrilled to watch new movies I had picked up from the library.  Ethan was not a happy rider.  He is old enough to not need much of a nap during the day but too young to enjoy a movie or any toys for an extended period of time.  By the time we got to the hotel, we were all exhausted and cranky.  Thankfully, the hotel had a pool and the kids had a blast.  They then slept pretty well, considering that it was the first time we had tried all three in the same room.  Claire and James shared the pull out sofa bed.  After some squabbling and complaints of touching each other's blankets, they fell asleep cuddled together.  The next morning, we finished the drive to Holland.

Wow...a picture of all three sitting and smiling and generally looking at the camera!  Where was it?  A gas station. With a lovely background and cell phone picture quality.
